A 7 man break developed with about 4 laps to go. Richard Hudson and another rider went away initially. A few kms later, Stacey and Spratt went across the gap, soon followed by Lindsay, Brown and a Parramatta rider. The Parramatta guy and one of the original two dropped off leaving 5 away to the finish.
